The Artist Behind AE Equine Photography
Equine Photographer
Meet Amy Elizabeth
I’m Amy - the photographer behind AE Equine Photography, and someone who has always believed that horses are so much more than beautiful subjects.
My love of photography began as a teenager, learning alongside my grandmother and spending weekends photographing life on the family farm. My love of horses began much earlier. Somewhere between the two, I found my calling: creating beautiful, meaningful imagery for people who share that same deep connection with their horses.
Today, my work is centered around equine portraiture and the relationships that make each horse so special. I’m drawn to the quiet moments just as much as the grand ones — the personality, the trust, the little details, and the connection that exists between horse and human.
As a lifelong equestrian myself, I understand that these relationships are deeply personal. I’ve known the joy of bringing a horse home, the pride of growing together, and the heartbreak of saying goodbye. My own horses have shaped so much of who I am, and that perspective is something I bring into every session.
Based in Abbotsford, BC, I photograph throughout the Lower Mainland and travel across British Columbia by request.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me with my family, my horses, or far too many cats - probably talking about horses anyway. I’m also an avid gamer - most often found wandering Azeroth in World of Warcraft - and I have a slightly unhealthy love for The Sims. Because apparently photographing horses and managing virtual ones still isn't enough for me.
My approach

I believe the best photographs come from genuine connection, not forced moments. My approach is relaxed, intentional, and centered around letting your horse’s personality shine. I’ll guide you through beautifully composed portraits while leaving plenty of room for the in-between moments — the quiet ones, the playful ones, and everything that makes your relationship uniquely yours. My goal is for you to walk away with imagery that feels effortless, authentic, and timeless.
